Where it leaves from

Ferries to Ios depart from Parikia, Paros's main port on the island's western coast. The harbour is large and well-organised, with ferry companies maintaining booths along the waterfront. Ios ferries dock at Ormos (Ios Town harbour), the compact port below the famous Chora.

The central Cyclades corridor

Paros sits roughly in the middle of the main Piraeus–Cyclades ferry line. Ios lies to the south, between Naxos and Santorini, so this crossing is part of the classic island-hopping chain. Services on this route often call at Naxos en route, adding a short stop to the schedule on some conventional sailings.

Operators

SeaJets runs the faster catamaran services, keeping journey times to around 1 hour in summer conditions. Blue Star Ferries operates conventional ferries that carry vehicles and are more resilient in strong meltemi winds, which can affect the southern Cyclades from July into September. Blue Star's larger vessels also have deck space, cafes and seating, which makes the 2-hour conventional crossing comfortable.

Onward connections from Ios

Ios connects southward to Santorini and northward back toward Naxos, Paros and Piraeus. It also links to Sikinos and Folegandros on less frequent services. Paros itself is a central hub with connections to Mykonos, Naxos, Syros and further, making it a practical base from which to plan a longer Cyclades circuit.
