Two companies sail from Piraeus to Sifnos in 2026. Seajets runs high-speed boats from April to October that reach Sifnos in about 2 h 30 min, from €68.70. Fast Ferries runs the conventional Dionisios Solomos all year, leaving Piraeus at 07:00 and arriving at 11:55, from €36.50. The one thing a first-timer should know: older guides and some booking sites still list Aegean Speed Lines (later Aegean Sea Lines). That company stopped sailing in 2026 after selling its ferry Anemos to Seajets, so plan around Seajets and Fast Ferries.
Where it leaves from
Ferries to Sifnos depart from Piraeus and arrive at Kamares, the ferry port on the west coast of the island. Ferryhopper lists gates E6, E7, E9 and E10 at Piraeus for this route; the gate is on your ticket, so check it on the day.
High-speed vs conventional
- Seajets high-speed: about 2 h 30 min, with a stop at Serifos. In summer 2026 the boat left Piraeus at 07:45, reached Serifos at 09:45 and Sifnos at 10:15, then continued to Milos. Economy was €68.70. The boats on this line also carry cars (€77.70 for a car under 4.25 m). Seats are numbered and indoors.
- Fast Ferries conventional: about 4 h 55 min, calling at Kythnos and Serifos on the way and continuing to Milos and beyond. Despite the company name, this is a conventional car ferry. Economy was €36.50 and a car €83.50. It is the cheapest option, the steadiest in wind and the only one in winter.
In late May, early June and late September 2026, the Seajets Olympic Champion Jet also called at Sifnos on its way from Piraeus to Milos and Santorini, leaving Piraeus at 09:00 and arriving at 11:30.
Timetable and season
- Summer (late May to late September): up to three sailings a day, with the Seajets boat at 07:45 and the Fast Ferries ship at 07:00. The Seajets return left Sifnos at 13:55 and reached Piraeus at 16:30; the Fast Ferries ship left Sifnos at 14:35.
- Spring and autumn: Seajets sails at 09:00 on most days and 12:00 on some, from early April to 31 October.
- Winter: only the Fast Ferries conventional ferry, with 4 to 7 sailings a week across the off-season, according to Ferryhopper.
From Lavrio. In summer 2026 Magic Sea Ferries also ran the Cat 1 catamaran daily from Lavrio, south-east of Athens, to Sifnos (10:30 departure, arriving 13:40, €55), from 28 May to 19 September.

Book early for July and August, especially for car space and for Friday departures from Athens. The meltemi, the strong north wind of July and August, can delay or cancel high-speed boats; the conventional ferry usually keeps sailing.
Sifnos and the western Cyclades
Sifnos is famous in Greece for its pottery, its cooking (Sifnian chickpea soup is a national classic) and its walking trails linking traditional villages. From Kamares you can continue by ferry to Serifos, Milos and Folegandros, which makes Sifnos an easy stop on a western Cyclades island-hopping route.
