Šibenik to Zlarin Ferry

Where it leaves from

Ferries depart from the Šibenik waterfront, right in the centre of this medieval Dalmatian city. The embarkation point is easy to find — the quay runs along the old town's harbour front, and Jadrolinija's boats leave from a clearly marked berth. Šibenik itself is worth a look; it is home to the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St James and sits at the mouth of the Krka River.

Zlarin — a car-free island

Zlarin is one of Dalmatia's small, quiet islands in the Šibenik archipelago — and crucially, it is car-free. No vehicles are permitted on the island, which gives it a pace and atmosphere quite distinct from the mainland towns and the larger, more visited Kornati area. The village of Zlarin wraps around a sheltered bay and is known historically for its coral fishing. Today it is primarily a place for swimming, walking and an unhurried lunch.

Operator and route

Jadrolinija runs the route year-round as a local island connection. The service is passenger-only — there is no point trying to book space for a vehicle, as none is carried. In summer there are several daily departures, with the schedule aligning roughly with daily commuter and tourist rhythms. In winter, sailings are less frequent but the route continues as an essential link for island residents.
