Where it leaves from

The ferry departs from Korčula Town, the medieval walled port on the island of Korčula. Services use the main harbour below the old town, which is also a regular stop on the Split–Dubrovnik coastal line. The crossing arrives at Ubli, the small ferry port on the western tip of Lastovo island — one of Croatia's most remote and sparsely populated islands.

Jadrolinija operates the route year-round as part of its South Dalmatian island network. In summer there are one to two departures per day; the winter schedule is reduced. The crossing is conventional — there is no high-speed catamaran option on this remote route — but the ferry carries both vehicles and passengers. Because Lastovo is at the end of the line and vehicle deck capacity is finite, it is worth booking ahead for July and August if you are travelling with a car.

Lastovo suits travellers who want isolation, clear water and hiking rather than nightlife. The island is well worth the extra effort to reach. If you are island-hopping from Split or Dubrovnik, Korčula makes a logical stopping point before continuing on to Lastovo.
