Dubrovnik Ferry Port
Dubrovnik's ferry port at Gruž is the southern hub of the Dalmatian coast, with catamarans to Mljet, Korčula, the Elaphiti Islands and further along the coast.
The port at Gruž
Dubrovnik's working ferry terminal is at Gruž harbour, in the bay west of the walled city. This is where all scheduled catamarans and larger ferries dock — not the picturesque Old Town port, which handles only small excursion craft. The Gruž terminal has a ticket hall, waiting area and café; city buses connect it to the Old Town in about 20 minutes.
Islands from Dubrovnik
The closest islands are the Elaphiti — Lopud, Šipan and Koločep — reached in 30–60 minutes by Jadrolinija catamaran; ideal for a day trip or short stay. Further afield, fast catamarans run to Mljet (Croatia's greenest island, roughly 1–1.5 hours) and to Korčula (about 2 hours), which connects onward to Hvar and Split.
Seasonal services
Most catamaran routes from Dubrovnik operate on a summer schedule (roughly May–October), with frequency highest in July and August. Winter services to some islands are reduced to a few sailings a week or suspended entirely; plan accordingly if travelling in the shoulder season.
Getting to and from the port
City bus lines 1A, 1B and 3 connect Gruž with Pile Gate (near the Old Town). Taxis are available at the terminal. If you are arriving on a cruise ship at the Lapad Pier next door, it is a 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal.
