Nice to Calvi Ferry

Where it leaves from

Ferries to Calvi depart from the Port de Nice in the Lympia harbour district. Nice's compact ferry terminal is easy to reach by taxi or bus from the city centre and the airport. You arrive at Calvi in the Balagne region of northern Corsica — a small town dominated by a 15th-century Genoese citadel perched on a rocky promontory above a famous crescent beach.

The crossing: Nice's quickest link to Corsica

At roughly 3.5 to 4 hours, the Nice–Calvi route is the shortest of the main Nice–Corsica crossings. Corsica Ferries uses modern high-speed vessels with passenger lounges and a cafeteria; the crossing is short enough to feel relaxed without needing a full meal service. In calm weather the open deck is a pleasant way to watch the coast of Corsica come into view.

Calvi and the Balagne

Calvi is one of the most popular resort towns in Corsica — its long sandy beach, clear water and lively port attract visitors from across France and Italy. The medieval Genoese citadel, where Christopher Columbus is traditionally said to have been born (a claim Corsicans enjoy), overlooks the bay. The Balagne interior, accessible by car or the narrow-gauge Tramway de la Balagne, offers hill villages, olive oil and local artisan producers.

Seasonality and booking

This is a seasonal route with peak frequencies from June to September and reduced sailings in April, May and October. Services are likely to be suspended in winter. Calvi is a popular destination and vehicle spaces fill up quickly in July and August — book as early as possible if you are crossing with a car.
